Highlights of Our Mexico City Art Week Tour 2026
I feel incredibly grateful and lucky to have had 12 entrepreneurs, art lovers, collectors, mothers, and inspiring women join me for this edition. The sprit was easy going, curiosity, get inspired and let be surprised! We shared very special moments, the group gathered together, it was very unique!
Here are few moments that I would love to highlight, it was hard to choose, and if you want to know more about what we did, see our posts on Instagram!
Casa Gilardi
Our tour started with an unofficial day visiting one of Mexico City’s most iconic houses, designed by the famous architect Luis Barragán: Casa Gilardi.
The house is located in one of my favorite neighborhood in Mexico City, Chapultepec. Surrounded by beautiful jacaranda trees, the streets become a prairie of purple flowers in spring. Casa Gilardi is still inhabited, and its owners often collaborate with artists to organize exhibitions. This year, Saenger Gallery co-produced a show featuring the artist Gregor Hildebrandt.
San Angel Inn
We can’t talk about Mexico without talking about its evocative gastronomy. This is certainly not a secret anymore, but San Angel Inn, which has been around since the 1692 (date for the construction of the hacienda), remains, for me, one of the best restaurants in the city.
Located right across from the Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera Studio, in the neighborhood of Coyoacán, this charming restored Hacienda Carmelite monastery welcomes Mexican families and visitors from around the world every day.
There isn’t a single time I go to Mexico without visiting this restaurant with clients, friends, or my in-laws. The menu is composed of traditional Mexican dishes, while the enormous patio feels almost like the Garden of Eden. Its peaceful atmosphere makes you forget that you are in the middle of one of the world’s largest megalopolises. The atmosphere is quite, musicians can come to sing you Mexican songs (but there are not mariachi!!). Try the margarita, its spectacular!!
Salón ACME
General Prim is the setting for Salón ACME, and it was probably one of the biggest surprises for our group, especially because of its architecture. Since almost the very beginning, Salón ACME has hosted its annual fair there. Each room reveals a different aspect of the building’s beauty. And, we have to say, the curation is generally very well done, creating thoughtful dialogues between the space, the selected artists, and their works.
Rafael Lozano-Hemmer at the Museo de Arte Moderno
One of the most unforgettable experiences was attending the opening night at the Museo de Arte Moderno (MAM) for the exhibition of Rafael Lozano-Hemmer.
It was the first time the museum had opened its doors at night to welcome an exhibition featuring an ultra-contemporary artist.
The show was highly interactive and very representative of Rafael’s practice: a fusion of art and technology, using art to reveal something about ourselves and about humanity.
Maybe I would add one more thing: Poliforum Siqueiros is an art piece by itself. I thing we were the only visitors from the Art week having the privilege to visit this place. The Siqueiros Cultural Polyforum is a cultural, political and social facility located in Mexico City as part of the World Trade Center Mexico City. It was designed and decorated by David Alfaro Siqueiros in the 1960s and hosts the largest mural work in the world called La Marcha de la Humanidad. The building has a theatre, galleries and more, but the main focus is the Forum Universal, which contains the interior portion of Siqueiros' mural work. Visitors can experience the mural while standing on a rotating stage, listening to Siqueiros narrate (this what we did!).
A Tailored Experience
All the experiences I offered were tailored specifically for our group. Museum and fair visits were accompanied by local curators or by me.
For our city visits, Marlene Ehrenberg was the perfect guide. With 60 years of experience and an extraordinary knowledge of Mexico City, there is truly no one who knows the city—and the way it has evolved over the years—better than she does.
There is so much more I would love to share about this trip. I highly recommend taking a look at the posts we shared on Instagram and joining us for the 2027 edition.
Reservations are now open, reserve your spot here.
We can’t wait to come back in 2027!
